Singing For The Brain

Singing and music has the most wonderful power to connect with people living with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society runs singing sessions across Oxfordshire designed to do just that.

Group Of Seniors Singing In Choir Together

Review

By Singing For The Brain Attendee, Sarah

“A cheerful, humorous group where anyone is welcome, no matter their singing abilities (which is lucky as I am terrible!). Memorable music from the past, we sang Scarborough Fair. Everyone is given their own set of lyrics and encouraged to join in with instruments that are handed round (maracas, castanets). Lyrics are printed clearly on A4. Carers are welcome. Venue is slightly tired but accessible and they’re looking to find somewhere new. Free parking available just across the road. Numbers vary week to week but usually around 20 people, including carers and family members.”
